Our second songwriter of the summer season is getting ready to tell some stories with music. This is a very chill, amazing series. There are so many gifted musicians in our area and Tim is no exception.
Tim Goodwin is a singer/songwriter from Northfield, MN. He plays original songs and some signature covers. His musical roots are in folk and Americana. His warm, baritone voice traces love, loss, and tells stories from all walks of life.
Tim has been a teacher all his life, only really digging into songwriting the last few years, His musical influences include John Prine, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, and Steve Earle. His songs communicate the truths he sees in the world, whether the truths he sings of are easy or difficult.
His 2020 album The New American Way begins with “My Heart Aches,” a co-write with Eliza Gilkyson. He followed that with the album, Together, released in 2023. Tim is constantly writing and released his latest LP, A Set of Stories, in the fall of 2024.
